The instruction manual may as well say, Step 1:Assemble the cage. Step 2:Finished. That is an example of its vagueness. There are many parts and it will take a while to put together. Still, the cage is cheaper and larger than most in/near its monetary price range. It is relatively sturdy. A full perch for the cage's width would have accommodated a large birds wing span, but you can always make one or find a tree branch.

We have 2 cockatiels in this cage. They previously lived in a cage with thicker bars, so it took them a while to figure out how to do their old sliding and swinging tricks, but they seem to be adapting. I like that the cage doesn't clang when you open the doors, as the old one did. There was only one moment of difficulty in assembling it, when the top wouldn't fit properly due to a blob of paint on a corner, but I flattened the blob with a hammer, and was able to finish putting it all together. It has very nice latches on the main doors. It looks great (we bought it in white) and seems well made and definitely worth the money.

I have my two two cockatiels in the same cage at last. This cage is massive! Plenty of room to fly and room for all sorts of toys.
