Bird Rest Shelf

The Bird Rest Shelf is an excellent addition to any cage 28" x 22" or larger. The bird rest shelf can give the bird an additional "level" or "floor" to their cage. It can also be used to hold anything that your bird wants to play with that you don't necessarily want to hang from your cage.

While the bird rest shelf is a fantastic enhancement to any healthy bird's living environment, it is also ideal for birds that have feet problems and birds that tend to fall off perches. Some birds have crippled or arthritic feet and it is best if they don't always keep their feet in the "perch-holding" position. The bird rest shelf, with its flat bars, allows the bird to stand comfortably with a flat foot. It can also be a good alternative for birds that fall off their perches while asleep or for young birds that are prone to falling because they aren't yet as steady affot as an adult bird. It can provide a safer rest area for them while they are in their cage, minimizing potential injury if they inadvertently fall.
