About Mid-West Metal Products
In 1921, Mid-West Metal Products made only one item, a Kruse Switch Box Support, and over the years began manufacturing millions of wire and sheet metal component parts. By 1960, they were producing training crates for pets. Today, Midwest Homes for Pets, a division of Mid-West Metal Products, produces and markets a variety of pet containment products. These products include dog crates, training puppy crates, dog kennels, cat playpens, bird cages, vehicle barriers, soft-sided carriers, grooming tables and much more. They also manufacture a full line of pet accessories like beds and feeding dishes.
Everything You Always Wanted to Know About The Multi Vista!
The design of the Multi Vista came about by our desire to improve upon our Double Vista product. The Double Vista was like all the other double cages on the market, one cage stacked on top of the other. The problem with this design is that the top cage would shade or block light from reaching the bird in the bottom cage. Being as bird-focused as we are, we decided we needed to fix that issue! Hence we started discussing the possibility of adding a section between the cages where one could install a full-spectrum light, illuminating the previously dark lower cage.
Once we had conceived that idea, we realized that not all customers would need to utilize the space for the light, so instead of just leaving that extra room in between the two cages vacant, we thought, hmmm...what if we could pull out the top panel of the bottom cage so the bottom cage could be made taller, thereby utilizing that 7 inches previously intended to house the light box?
Once we accomplished that, we thought, why not design the cage so that ALL of the center separating panels could be pulled out, and the original "double" cage could be transformed into a single, tall cage? So we did just that!
We were now on a roll that was pure genius, so we decided to take this cage versatility idea one step further. What if we could connect 2 (or more) of these cages together? AND then, what if instead of just having the ability to figure/reconfigure one vertical set of two cages, we could figure/reconfigure these cages to also work in the HORIZONTAL direction too? With this idea, you could take the original Multi Vista (two 24in X 24in X 24in) cages and put a nearly identical Multi Vista next to it and then simply by removing a center panel between the two sets of cages, instantly create a 48 inch wide cage on the bottom with two 24 inch wide cages on the top. Or a 48 inch wide cage on the top and two 24 inch wide cages on the bottom. Or a 48 inch wide cage on both the top and the bottom. Or take out all of the center panels and have one gigantic 48in X 48in X 48in cage.
With all of these configuration options, the Multi Vista Base and Multi Vista Expansion units are ideal for bird breeders or consumers that have multiple birds, because you don't have to buy individual cages for each bird. You don't even have to commit to a single cage configuration. Simply purchase a Multi Vista Base and Multi Vista Expansion unit, and change the cage configurations based on your bird housing needs that day! When your bird housing needs change, your Multi Vista cage(s) change with you!
