1. Bird aviaries are large cages to allow for the greatest amount of freedom possible for your pet bird. They are generally 4 to 6 feet square (or in diameter), but can be much larger.
2.
Outdoor bird aviaries are more rugged and usually larger than the typical indoor bird aviary. Usually they are octagonal or hexagonal in design to provide the most efficient use of space.
3. Bird aviaries often come with a choice in wire gauges and finish options. With larger birds, it is very important to have wire gauge that can withstand heavier use.
4. Obviously, an aviary provides the most movement and freedom for your pets. They also facilitate cleaning and bird behavior. For a serious bird enthusiast, they are an excellent choice.
5.
Indoor aviaries reach heights of about 7 feet, making them perfect for climbers and larger birds. An indoor aviary with a small footprint may not take up much more space than a traditional bird cage, making them a more reasonable choice than you may have initially thought.
6. A breeding aviary does double duty, allowing you to breed your birds, keeping them separate when necessary, while allowing plenty of room for exercise and climbing.
7. We recommend investing in an outdoor aviary if you have the space and enthusiasm. While they are usually more expensive than an indoor cage or aviary, we've found that customers (and their birds) enjoy them immensely.
